The colour coral

For this university project, we simply had to pick a colour from a list and illustrate it. Simple?
No. I decided on the colour coral, one of my favorite colours. And a colour that is highly in fashion this season. I looked into the research of the colour of coral, but my initial thought was that it reminded me of romance, floral and femininity. That lead me to research the colour meaning of coral roses, which just so happened to be desire. I began to wonder what people desired? What did people all around the globe desire every single day? I came up with the following:

• The desire for knowledge
• The desire for love
• The desire for peace
• The desire for perfection
• The desire for power
• The desire for the supernatural

I decided to portray this images by collage, something I had never tried. The images represent these chosen desires and have very deep meanings behind them.
This was a project I really enjoyed and would love to do something similar again.
